Delivering for customers and the environment
Welcome to this preview of the Utility Week Awards 2024, where we showcase the breadth of achievements from teams across the water and energy sector and their supply chain.
There is a lot to celebrate, as utilities have continued to respond to growing public and political scrutiny of the sector. Whether this is around protecting vulnerable customers, progressing the push for net zero or protecting the environment, our finalists have shown how the sector is delivering on its commitments.
In our criteria for this year’s awards we were keen to stress that we wanted to see companies and their partners go beyond regulatory requirements. We also underlined the need to show benefits for society and a clear understanding of how customers will be impacted.
We also wanted to recognise the way the sector is investing in its people, hence our two new awards recognising Diversity & Inclusion and Skills & Training.
We received a record number of entries this year and it would have been impossible to whittle those down to this stellar list of finalist without the hard work and insight of our judges. I would like to thank them for their time and effort in helping us pull together a shortlist that highlights the best of the best. Thank you also to our sponsors for their ongoing support of these awards.
I look forward to revealing the winners across these 17 categories at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on 3 December and hope to see you there.
Congratulations again to our finalists, and good luck!
