Since 2018, Firstsource has partnered with E.ON, supporting its transformation to E.ON Next, focusing on digital innovation and sustainability. Our contact center operations deliver exceptional customer service with domain experts providing empathetic support for customers' energy needs, building trust and driving resolutions.

Our Smart Meter Operations Team is integral to this mission. We delivered 87,000 smart meter appointments over the last year—21,000 above the target— recording 47,000 successful smart meter installs and saving E.ON Next millions in potential regulator penalties. This story is not just about hitting numbers but about changing lives and speeding up our progress towards net-zero emissions.

Kier and Thames Water - Faringdon to Blunsden Pipeline

Distributed In partnership with Thames Water, the Faringdon to Blunsden Trunk Main Phase 2 project executed by Kier Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks (NrNN) demonstrates outstanding teamwork and innovation in enhancing water supply resilience for 90,000 customers.

This £45 million initiative, spanning 13.7 km, utilised cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices to exceed client expectations, delivering £13.6 million in social value.

The team's approach integrated digital solutions, environmental stewardship, community engagement, setting new benchmarks in the utility sector. Their commitment to diversity, sustainability, and stakeholder collaboration embodies the values required to win "Team of the Year" at the Utility Week Awards 2024.

Scottish Water, Stantec and Mott Macdonald JV (m2), Caledonia Water Alliance, ARC and Clancy - Improving Urban Waters Team

The Improving Urban Waters Team includes Scottish Water, m2 (Stantec and Mott Macdonald JV), ARC (Atkins and RPS JV) and Caledonia Water Alliance (AECOM and Morrison Water Services).

They are delivering a £130 million initiative aimed at enhancing urban water quality by delivering 108 high-priority projects. The team achieved remarkable efficiency, completing projects 50% faster than previous programmes by adopting an agile, integrated approach.

Their focus on sustainability has reduced environmental impact whilst collaborative efforts have streamlined processes, reduced costs, and improved community outcomes. This programme sets a new standard for efficiency, collaboration, and positive environmental impact in the sector.

SSEN Transmission - Procurement and Commercial Team

SSEN Transmission (SSENT) has launched an ambitious £20 billion programme of investment to upgrade the electricity transmission network across the north of Scotland. Known as the Pathway to 2030 programme, these projects will play a key role in delivering secure power for generations, enabling the connection of up to 11GW of new offshore wind capacity through ScotWind Projects. But SSENT cannot deliver these projects alone. The local supply chain is crucial and SSENT P&C team works hard to engage with and secure the supply chain it needs, presenting major opportunities for growth as well as benefits to the local community.

UK Power Networks - UKPN’s DSO Operations Team

UK Power Networks’ DSO Operations Team has enhanced customer service and operational efficiency; delivering 98.5% customer satisfaction, managing 10.2GW distributed energy - enough to power London twice over, and facilitating £184million customer benefits. Their innovative outage management and real-time data-driven decisions have reduced curtailment and CO2 emissions, getting more green energy into customers’ homes. By integrating flexibility into substations, they ensure seamless EV and heat pump connections, deferring >£85million in network reinforcement. Unique in the country, this ten-strong team’s relentless collaboration with other departments drives efficiency, reliability, and environmental sustainability, coordinating thousands of successful interactions and expanding green energy opportunities.

United Utilities and Advance Plus - Oswestry Water Treatment Works

The Oswestry team have excelled in environmental stewardship, community engagement, customer service, safety and academic-industry partnerships. And a commitment to leave a positive legacy in Oswestry. The Oswestry WTW project team face a significant challenge delivering a £145M Capital Investment project in 33 months. Whilst maintaining a live existing site with uninterrupted supply to United Utilities customers. The project is necessitated by increase in water demand from exponential population growth of 10% in Chesire and Merseyside by 2035, creating a step change in output requirements from 140MLD to 210MLD and regulatory output date from the DWI - July 2026.
